How it works
Never too easy. Never too hard.
Every question is picked for your child, so they’re always learning something new. Here’s how it works for Sam, in Year 5, practising fractions.
We see what they can do
Every answer tells us a little more about what your child can do, and what they’re ready for next.
Sam's last 5 fraction questions
4 right · 1 wrong
We pick the just-right question
Not one they’d find easy, and not one that would knock their confidence. Hard enough to make them think.
They climb, one step at a time
As they get better, the questions get harder with them, step by step towards the 11+.
Try it
Have a go. Try getting one wrong, too.
This is what your child sees: one question at a time, 5-option multiple choice in the style of GL Assessment 11+ papers. Questions are picked so they get about three in four right.
A coat costs £80. In a sale, the price is reduced by 25%. What is the sale price?
Getting some wrong is the point
About 75% correct is the goal. Each wrong answer shows what the mistake probably was, the steps to solve it, and a similar question to try.
Your child's view
The numbers are for you. The companion is for them.
Your child picks a lion, a tree or a dragon. It grows through six stages as their maths improves, and it never shrinks. You choose how much of the score they see.

Questions parents ask
What happens after the 2-week free trial?
Your subscription starts at £10 a month, or £80 a year, unless you cancel before the 2 weeks are up. You can cancel any time from the parent area, and delete your account and data whenever you like.
How long should my child practise?
Little and often works well. We suggest a round of 10 questions a few times a week. There are no timers, and nothing your child sees punishes them for missing a day.
Which 11+ does it prepare for?
Questions are 5-option multiple choice, in the style of GL Assessment 11+ maths papers. It covers four topics so far (four operations, fractions, percentages and angles), with more on the way. It's maths only for now.
Which devices does it work on?
Any phone, tablet or computer with a web browser. There's nothing to install. Your child plays on a device where you're logged in, and the parent area is locked with your own PIN.
What do you do with our data?
We only keep what's needed: your email and first name, your child's nickname and school year, and their answers. It's stored in London, never used for adverts or shared, and you can delete everything at any time from the parent area. Read the privacy notice
